This is the fourth time I’ve had problems with this shop. They keep messing up the weight and sometimes even the quantity of the items. Every time I raise the issue, they just tell me to come back to the store for a refund.
This is already the third time I’ve called them about the same problem. I’ve explained multiple times that I live one hours away from Christchurch and only come into the city about once a month. Despite that, they still insist that I drive all the way back just to get my money back instead of simply transferring it to my bank account.
What’s even worse is that this hasn’t only happened to me. A couple of my friends have also had the same issue with incorrect weight or quantity from this shop.
I understand that mistakes can happen sometimes. But when the same problem has happened to the same customer four times, the least they could do is take responsibility and refund the money by bank transfer instead of forcing someone to drive hours back to the store.
Very disappointing service and extremely frustrating to deal with. Be careful when buying from here and always double-check the weight and quantity of what you’re paying for.

Absolutely love this place! It has everything you could possibly want from an Indian grocery – from fresh produce, spices, lentils, flours, snacks, frozen parathas, to hard-to-find specialty items. The shelves are always well-stocked, and the store is clean and organized.
Prices are fair, and they often have great deals on bulk items. What really makes it stand out is the friendly staff — they’re super helpful if you’re trying to find something specific or need a recommendation for a certain dish.
Whether you’re doing a full Indian meal prep or just craving a quick samosa and some masala chai mix, this place has it all. Honestly, once you shop here, you won’t want to go anywhere else. Highly recommended!

As a long time customer (not long since they opened in South City) I was surprised to read the negative reviews on here. I was very surprised to read that customers were being overcharged but today I bought three packets of Rasio Magic masala and was charged full price at the checkout which I was surprised about. I raised this with the cashier who said there was no discount. I had to point out that there was but she was determined that there wasn't. Four (yes 4) members of staff later and the discount was applied. I counted 6 large stickers on three different levels of shelves that clearly said 3 packets for $5. I pointed this out to the first member of staff but for reasons I cannot understand they had to call another member of staff to come and read the same thing and they then had to call somebody else! This just sends the completely wrong message! This makes it look like your staff have no idea about what is going on, how to handle a situation and generates a very poor professional image. I see others have commented on this!
I am not the first person to mention a lack of discount in the feedback here. This is starting to look more than just a one off incident. This is not professional.
Why does it take four members of staff to correct an issue?
Why aren't the staff more aware that clearly there are issues with discounts on the shelves rather than denying them and seeing who just pays full price?
A long time ago this was a great shop (back when the owner was on the till) but it it looks like it has gone down hill a lot since then.
I suggest everybody asks for a receipt which is something that I would never do in any other supermarket. I am not the first person to suggest this. There should be trust but it looks like this has been eroded.
A long time ago there was no competition, there is now. I suggest you remember this.
If you try to rip me off, I will never step foot in your shop again.

Very large international food marker, with a huge selection and heaps of variety your sure to find what you need, great prices for anchor milk and cream, large spice selection and a wide array of sauces and drinks, get every thing you need to create a meal even your mother would approve of,

Hi i had bad experience recently.i bought red salt bag it came with small stones in it.i attached photo thats from one scoop of red salt.
Other thing i bought allubhujia that was really bad feels like not done properly .color was off and taste was bad and it was feeling like not cooked enough ,it gets doughy in mouth i took that package back to shop but that guy refused to return because i didn't have recipient,
