Customer service skills need some improvement. My 4 year old son wandered in after we stopped in at the supermarket next door. A staff member asked if we needed any help as soon as we walked in , I said no just looking but her demeanor wasn’t especially friendly , she stared into my eyes intensely, but I brushed it off . I was carrying a large bottle of fabric softener and ginger syrup, plus my wallet and keys in my arms. My hands were full , I had no shopping bag, no handbag , no hoody , no sun glasses. (I don’t know how they ”profile” people?) My son wanted to look at the books and the toys saying mum I want this for my birthday and I was following him around saying wow that’s cool , yeah maybe , okay let’s go now (as you do with young kids) I noticed they were following us around the store and busying themselves at shelves right next to us . I realised what they were doing and felt very uncomfortable and urged my son let’s go. What the bloody hell did they think I was going to steal carrying no bag , wearing a knitted jumper with no pockets and my hands clearly full? 🤦🏻‍♀️ Or did they think my 4 year old would steal ? I understand theft prevention is important , but use some common sense. Great way to alienate your customers

Popped in to collect a book they had put aside for me. Staff were lovely and had a great time getting more recommendations for future reads. Will definitely be back!!
