Terrible rude service. I turned up to collect a prescription for my wife that was sent through from the 24 hr surgery 45 minutes before I arrived. When I arrived at the pharmacy I was left standing waiting for ages before I was even acknowledged. I was then treated rudely by the Indian pharmacist who did a cursory look and said it wasn't done and then muttered something I couldn't understand. After standing around waiting for another 25 minutes a female staff member asked me if I was ok and I said I was waiting for a prescription. She had a look and it was there waiting and had been there all along. No apology from the 1st person who didn't bother to look properly. The female staff member said he was stressed as his computer wasn't working. Appalling behavior.
The shop was clean, tidy, and well presented. We did have a short wait as they were quite busy, but it was understandable. We were served by Marie, who was very helpful and friendly. She checked our address, noticed we live quite far away, and took the initiative to speak with the pharmacist about arranging our repeats. We really appreciated her thoughtfulness and the excellent service we received. Overall, it was a positive experience and we were happy with the service.
I had a very disappointing experience at your pharmacy. I specifically asked for medication suitable for my 2-year-old child who has bronchitis, but I was given a product intended for a much older child (around 12 years old). This is a serious concern, as providing incorrect medication for a young child can be dangerous. In addition to that, I was overcharged for the medication. I had to return to request a refund, which was inconvenient. During that interaction, the staff member was rude and dismissive. When I mentioned that other pharmacies were selling the same medication at a lower price and asked if they could match it, I was told in an unfriendly manner that they are “not funded” and was essentially told off. Overall, I found the service to be unprofessional, unhelpful, and lacking basic care—especially when dealing with a child’s health. I hope this feedback is taken seriously so that other customers do not have a similar experience.
Terrible service - avoid this pharmacy there are much better in Chch. On Tuesday night, I purchased an over the counter medication. The staff member placed the boxes in a paper bag, and I assumed the receipt was included. The following day, my doctor confirmed I did not have the condition. I therefore returned to the pharmacy on friday to return the unopened box in the sealed paper bag. After consulting with the pharmacist, a technician requested my receipt. However, no receipt was in the bag, despite my having requested one at purchase. I showed her my bank statement (see attached photo) as proof of purchase. The technician stated returns require a receipt and questioned whether I had requested one—which I had. I then asked to see the returns policy. The technician changed her position, claiming medicines cannot be returned as they may have been used. I showed her that both the box and the paper bag remained unopened since purchase. When I requested to speak with the manager, the technician directed me to contact via email, which I did and the manager without acknowledging the confusion and poor communication just held the line that they wouldn’t accept a return. The service was confusing and unsatisfactory. Avoid this pharmacy as there are pharmacy’s with much better service in Christchurch.
I had a great experience at this pharmacy. The staff are friendly, professional, and always willing to take the time to answer questions clearly. Prescriptions are filled quickly, and everything is well organised and clean. I really appreciate how caring and respectful they are—it makes a big difference. Highly recommend this pharmacy for reliable service and excellent customer care. Best Unichem in the city 🌟
