We enjoyed The George quite a bit and would return. Rooms are very stylish and comfortable, although a little smaller than we were expecting given the photos online. Service was terrific. Parking was astonishingly easy for a city hotel. The onsite, free laundry was very much appreciated. My husband said breakfast was good, but I didn't want to spend so much because I am not a big breakfast eater. There is nowhere very close by to just get a coffee. I wish there had been an option for a small breakfast at the hotel.

Ended a 5-week road trip here to celebrate my partner's birthday, and The George was the perfect place to finish our adventure. The staff went above and beyond - very friendly, helpful and left thoughtful little touches in the room that made the occasion feel really special (particularly George the bear!). The whole experience was warm, welcoming, and genuinely lovely. It's a beautiful property, brilliantly located as a base to explore Christchurch. Couldn't have asked for a better way to celebrate and close out our holiday.

We had a wonderful stay at the George! Beautiful location across from the Botanical Gardens which provided for a lovely stroll thru its enormous grounds. Downtown was just a 10 minute walk to the Riverside marketplace, the Regents area and the Cathedral. A special thank you the Charise, the manager at the George for her extreme kindness and understanding and Matt who assisted us as well! Definitely stay at the George!

Last minute flight cancellation, we got in contact with Matt from the hotel and he kindly assisted us promptly. From the moment we got there he was polite, compassionate and provided an overall great experience to a very messy day. Highly recommend this place for anyone!

Fabulous property right by the park and easy distance to all of Christchurch. Staff delighted to be of service. Gourmet dining to please any palate❣️ Hands down best place to stay😉👍
