A must stop if you’re driving from between Christchurch and Arthur’s Pass. This was my first New Zealand pie and it definitely impressed. I got a cottage pie, a twist pastry and an apple pie, all three were delicious. They have a great selection of pies, pastries, sweets and drinks. Plenty of seating inside and outside, and cutlery available (was required as pie was stuffed full!). Prices are fair, friendly service, free parking on the street or in the carpark behind. You won’t regret stopping in here!

We tried the Sheffield Supreme (steak cheese and bacon), the Brisket Cheese and Jalapeño and the Venison. The one with the Jalapeño came up top because of the extra kick from the spice. Otherwise I thought the venison and the beef were too similar and we should’ve tried the chicken and one of those instead. Also tried the boysenberry pie - it was not too sweet which was great, though the crust was too thick for my liking. The ladies working here were also super friendly and sweet!

Sheffield Pies is definitely worth the stop if you’re passing through! There was a small queue when we arrived, but the staff were so efficient that we didn’t have to wait long at all. I grabbed the Beef & Cheese Pie to take away and enjoyed it at the golf course. Even after it had cooled down a little, it was still incredibly tasty with a rich, flavourful filling and flaky pastry. I also couldn’t resist buying one of their cute stickers as a little souvenir. Looking forward to coming back next time to try a freshly baked pie!

I've gobbled many Sheffield pies over the years, always a treat coming back from the mountains. Great range and incredible pastry, they've got the crispy tops and soft bottoms down to an art here. Today I snaffled a jalapeño cheese and brisket, the bits of brisket were a bit too big in my opinion, made eating it a bit difficult as they were bigger than a mouthful - thus, it failed the Pie-n-drive challenge. But still tasty, needs more jalaps. I've never had a bad pie here, but I've also never had my socks blown off. As always, brilliant service for a busy shop, plenty of flavours and well stocked. Sweet treats also top tier. Kia ora.

Best pies we’ve had on the South Island! The Sheffield Supreme, Venison and Whisky relish and Chicken, Camembert and apricot were standout flavours, would recommend! The cherry pie was also lovely. Definitely worth a pit stop if you’re driving through 👌
