This resort was ideal for us given the location and the ample room size. We were three adults sharing the suite, the staff were very prompt in replying to my emails prior to our stay. Although this property is dated and needs some renovations, overall we were happy with the suite and our stay. The lighting was very dim in the kitchen /.dining room, a few lights were inoperative (also the extractor fan light wasn’t working). We were fortunate enough to get the staff to send maintenance to replace two lights that were not working. A lovely staff member was very apologetic for the inconvenience caused when our room had not been cleaned and the lighting issue. I think his name is Donghoon, he is a credit to the team and an asset to the resort. In the bathroom, the shower was fantastic - great pressure and it was nice and hot. The only issue we encountered was the shower gel, shampoo and conditioner were fixed to the wall over the bath making it difficult to reach, particularly for my 80 year old mother who is frail. It would have been better if it was fixed to the wall closer to the shower. My sister and I loved our daily walks around the resort, there were plenty of tracks to explore (The Groynes), lots of wildlife, nature - birds, swans, ducks and pukekos. We also enjoyed a drink at the bar with food, the bar snacks were delicious. I would stay here again.
We stayed here unexpectedly after a missed flight. Despite or unexpected status, we were treated so well! We felt like royalty! The staff was so polite and helpful. The restaurant is great! There's formal dining, and then a bar with bar food. We had the best stay!
Beautiful setting in Clearwater, Christchurch, and easily the standout feature of the stay. The rooms are comfortable enough, though they are beginning to show their age and could benefit from refurbishment. The food was enjoyable, but not particularly memorable. Service at reception was somewhat inconsistent and could be improved. Overall, a pleasant stay without being exceptional. With such a stunning location, the property has enormous potential.
I’ve now stayed at Peppers Clearwater Resort twice, and this visit was even better than the first. The property is beautifully located, with peaceful, relaxing views right from the room. The grounds are immaculately maintained, and the staff are consistently welcoming and attentive. It’s also conveniently close to the city while still feeling like a quiet escape, which is the perfect balance. This has easily become my go-to accommodation for any future trips to Christchurch. Highly recommend.
The hotel was very nice, bed was very comfortable and large. The location is truly amazing, surrounded by a large golf course and small lakes make this a great place to stay. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and with the reception being open 24/7 means they can help at anytime. Unfortunately the room service was missed on one of the days, even after we left the hanger on the door saying we were out. The reception was helpful and dropped off some new towels in 5 minutes, but it still shouldn't of been missed in the first place. Overall I would definitely stay here again, but next time I would spend the extra $10 a night and go for the Lakeview room over the King room as the view out of the Lakeview room really is 10x better.
