Great hotel, large room which was clean and had everything needed and the free drink on arrival was a lovely touch. Staff were very helpful and the breakfast was ample. Only a brisk 20 minute walk into cathedral square. I was lucky enough to get upgraded to a two bedroom apartment and all of these things added to the overall enjoyment during my stay here.
My husband and I had a lovely stay here. Large room with comfy bed and nice bathroom. Lovely spa pool and cold pool would have been great if weather was warmer. The restaurant at the hotel is absolutely 100 percent worth a visit. Not only is it a quirky museum, but the food was amazing. I got slow cooked lamb on creamy cheesy pumpkin rice. Was so delish and a highlight of our trip.
We had an excellent stay at Pavilions Hotel. The staff were outstanding — friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. A special mention to Brian, the manager, who was extremely professional and made our stay even more enjoyable with his exceptional service. As motel owners ourselves, we have stayed at many hotels and motels throughout Christchurch, and we can honestly say that Pavilions is one of the best. The quality of service, attention to detail, and overall experience truly stood out. Highly recommended, and we look forward to staying again in the future.
Hotel is nice enough, very odd smell in the atrium and stairwell but our room was on the second level and once you got up there the smell was gone, room was OK for what we paid for. The room door doesn't have the automatic close arm on it as most motel/hotel rooms have so each time we opened the door it would slam against the door stop, abit loud and annoying. The lovely lady at reception who checked us in short blonde hair, I didn't ask her name but she was super friendly and warm and gave a smile every time we saw her, can't say the same for other staff but we didn't spend much time around the hotel or restaurant as we were exploring the city during our stay.
Stayed here for a Gold Club Bus tour. Lovely quaint hotel. Fantastic food in the restaurant. Breakfast a bit average. $5 for a flat white/cappuccino. A laundry and bar. Very small for large groups. Also upstairs rooms accessible only by stairs. Our room had a BATH which was an added bonus for me. A 10 minute walk to Casino and 15 minute walk to downtown Christchurch.
