Our choice of car, and car rental company, for our first New Zealand road trip spanning 2,600km in 15 days. 🔑 the collection process was simple even though it was after hours collection, we made the call via the free airport phone and got to the shuttle within minutes, and was ferried to the parking lot by a friendly driver. Keys handed to us after he verified my driving license and we found the car in the lot easily based on his instructions. 📱given that we don’t drive in our home country, we had issues connecting to Apple Carplay, and even bought a cable to try to improve the process but to no avail, which we returned to Omega office the next day to get it sorted. However, their first response was that there’s no guarantee of that in the booking and after failing to get it fixed, we had to make do with using our phone for navigation - slight bummer but luckily the phone is able to sit in the holder easily. We did also ask for a change of car to one that has a working Apple Carplay and they rejected it (though understandable since we had insurance coverage and might be troublesome to do), but their reason was that it was fully booked out which is definitely a lie, seeing that there’s the same amount of cars there on the day of collection and return. I did book this newer Yaris but smaller variant with expectations of using Apple Carplay though, so definitely knocking a point off there. 🚗 that said, the car drove well throughout the trip without any issues, it did get slightly wobbly and unstable when faced with high winds at high speeds - nothing a slower drive couldn’t manage 💵 it costed slightly under $800 with full excess and the late collection fee (which i thought was rather atrocious at $46 to collect past office hours), but all things considered was rather affordable at no more than $60 a day. 🛫 the return process was swift and we reached the airport within 20 minutes of arriving at the office Given that there’s a lot of options for car rentals out there, and that we often get upgraded to a better car with better functionalities, i would probably sit this out during our next trip.
I booked the car online and the pick-up and return process were very simple and smooth. The vehicle I rented was a Hyundai iMax 8-seater diesel with around 130,000 km mileage. The interior was clean, the performance and fuel efficiency were good, and the overall condition of the car had no issues. The space was excellent, making it very convenient for carrying luggage. Overall, a pleasant and hassle-free rental experience.
Big shout out to Jay!! He was very good at his job and his customer service skills were great. I booked a small compact car and it was very clean inside with a CarPlay screen. I had a great experience and the price is unbeatable so I will definitely be booking with them again.
Friendly and professional staff. Got the shuttle from airport to Omega, arrived quickly and a really nice shuttle driver. At the office it was an easy process and the car wonderful (Toyota Corolla Hybrid). Smooth and easy to drive, very comfortable and economical. Eight days later when returning the car, it again was an easy and quick process. The staff are great. Shuttle back to airport. Great service and value. Highly recommend using Omega Car Rentals. Their awesome.
Fuss free and smooth rental process from Omega Rentals. Returning the car was a breeze as well. Enjoyed really great rental rates from them, with full insurance coverage. We got a 2017 Toyota rav 4 with no major issues. Special shoutout to Kelvin for his humor and getting everything done so efficiently.
