I went into the Eastgate store 21st July. I felt stalked by the salesperson as soon as I entered. I'd been in during the week & had seen some shoes on sale so had come back in to buy them. The salesperson made me feel uncomfortable even though I engaged with her for help with sizing. There were now 2 salespeople observing me. I took the shoes up to the counter obviously to buy them & the salespeople just let me stand at the counter while they were talking to each other for ages. Finally the manager comes over & as the transaction is taking place I said " u guys really panic when a maori walks in don't you because I feel stereotyped by you as soon as I walked in? She said "there were some dodgy ones who came in earlier " Not good enough Eastgate No 1 Shoes to be painted with that brush! I am hardworking, have a business & would never treat my customers so poorly especially for the colour of there skin!!

Got greeted on entry and a lovely lady served me. Checked we're on data base. No add on attempted it may have been because my daughter was purchasing perhaps? Good clean displays. Just two staff on and a few customers around. Thanks ladies.

Just came from the Eastgate Mall branch. I asked if I can open the foldable backpacks on display (they are not sealed). I was told I can just look at the drawing and that it is difficult to put it back. And that I can open but I have to put it back exactly how it was. It’s commonsense that a black and white basic sketch is different from seeing the actual stuff , maybe if it is a coloured pic but it is not. Considering that they had lots of these that were on clearance, it makes sense to open one of them for display for customers to see how it looks right away. They will have more chances of selling the item this way because customers would not want to risk buying what they cannot see. Staff was not so friendly, wanting customer service skills. Another time, I bought three boxes of shoes and I was not offered a bag. I was expected to carry three boxes of shoes around.I offered to pay for a bag and that’s the only time they gave me a bag. Disappointed with this branch.

Went there today with a pretty good idea of what thought I wanted. Had fantastic service from Sophie and found out I was stuck in the 80’s when it comes to shoes and bought a really nice pair through her recommendation that through text pics got approved from home and I’m looking forward to wearing tomorrow!! Thanks Sophie
