We booked Novotel for our last 2 nights stay in New Zealand. The check in process was pretty seamless and the receptionist was very friendly and helpful, his name was Jacy. The King Room that we booked was very spacious and very comfortable. It has bathtub, complete amenities such as ironboard and iron. They provided sofa as well. The bed was very comfy and the blanket was warm.
We had a few comment on the room and the hotel. First the wall between rooms was quite thin, I could here neighbors talking, plugging in electronics, and a few steps. Also it was pretty hard to find the spot to park or stop because no clear sign that we can stop there considering the road looked exactly like sidewalk. It only said unloading area but we were not sure if we could stop there or park our car there for the check in. Also they had no free parking, we had to pay for $25 for 24 hours or $35 if we wished to use valet. We chose valet option because we only needed 1 day parking and only $10 difference.
Overall I would suggest for tourists to stay here. Its pretty close to the mall, cafes, riverside market, so that you dont need to pay for uber to go anywhere. Also it was a pleasant stay at the hotel itself.

I visited Novotel Christchurch Cathedral for the buffet breakfast and overall it was a good experience. The ambience is pleasant, well set up, and the staff were friendly and welcoming.
The breakfast spread was quite good with a wide range of options. There was a nice selection of breads, cheeses, cereals, and fresh fruits, which was enjoyable and well presented.
The only disappointment was the live egg station. There was no staff member available when I arrived, and despite there being no queue, a simple omelette took over 15 minutes to be served. This took away from an otherwise smooth breakfast experience.
Overall, a good breakfast with great atmosphere and service, but the live egg station could be better managed to match the rest of the experience.

Located opposite the Cathedral and within walking distance to town. The staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean but very dated and in need of an upgrade. The bathroom layout is a little unusual with the vanity located outside, and amenities are very basic. Breakfast had a good spread and was tasty.

Our coach from Queestown broke down and we sent an email to inform the hotel not to give away our room but not a single reply!!
This puts us under unnecessary stress!!
We arrived after 13 hours later , cold, tired and exhausted just to be humiliated and ridiculed by the Duty Manager Monish
While checking in , even though we both are platinum and gold card members , my husband ask for welcome drinks and he said its in the app. My husband then showed him the app doesnt work and he replied its not his problem he didnt make the app!! This coming from a DUTY MANAGER????
I then ask for extra card to slide in the power slot and he lied to say there should be one instead of giving us one. Every hotel has hundreds if not thousands of room cards. How difficult to give us one??? Our gadgets after 13 hours of traveling were low on battery. We need to charge them while we go out for dinner.
True enough there is no card on the slot so when we went out we didnt want to beg for one , come back to to room to slide the card in and go out again. we were too tired and as most restaurants were closing we didnt have the time to go back up to the room. I believed he must be enjoying himself for making us feel being played.
There r other small insults that he threw in our face until I had to remind him I m platinum card n we r no green horn that we have been Accor plus members for over 20 years. Honestly this is the worst duty
I seriously think he has an attitude problem and honestly if a platinum member is treated this way, I hate to think what will happen to ordinary members or worse what will happen to those who worked under him
On the contrary, Jenny at front desk always has a smile on her face and is super nice n helpful. Perhaps she should be the duty manager?
Otherwise the rooms are nice, location is great.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel, and I cannot express how fantastic my experience was! From the moment I arrived, the staff welcomed me with genuine smiles and warmth.
