I attended the store with an elderly family member, aged 82, who intended to purchase a Lenovo Chromebook that we had already researched online. Upon entering the laptop section, we approached a sales associate and asked where the Lenovo Chromebooks were located. As soon as we reached the model we had identified, the sales associate immediately began strongly discouraging the purchase. He stated repeatedly that Chromebooks are “only used in schools” and that they have “very limited functionality”. I explained clearly that the laptop was only required for very basic use, including emails, internet browsing, online banking and Google Docs. Despite this, he continued to insist that Chromebooks were only suitable for students and could not do much, and he actively led us away from the Chromebook section towards significantly more expensive HP laptops. This approach caused visible confusion and concern for my elderly family member. After further research, I can confirm that these statements about Chromebooks were misleading and incorrect. Once we selected an HP laptop and asked to proceed with the purchase, the sales associate asked whether we would be buying Microsoft Office. When we declined, he questioned how we would open Word documents and stated that without purchasing Microsoft Office, Word documents could not be opened or used at all. This is factually incorrect, as Word documents can be opened without a paid Microsoft 365 subscription using read only mode, Word Online, or alternative software. Further to this, when we later set up the laptop at home, we discovered that the device actually came with Microsoft Office included free for one year. This directly contradicts the information provided in store and further demonstrates that the advice given was inaccurate and misleading. This misinformation again caused unnecessary confusion and frustration, particularly for an elderly customer. We then asked about the cost of having a technician assist with transferring documents from the old computer to the new one. The sales associate stated this would cost $130 and claimed that we would also be required to purchase an additional $120 external hard drive in order for the transfer to be possible. I queried this, as basic file transfers can be completed via Ethernet cable or WiFi without any external hard drive. I later completed this transfer myself successfully using an Ethernet cable. The insistence that the hard drive was required was inaccurate. In summary, the sales associate provided multiple pieces of incorrect information, including: That Chromebooks are only for schools and have very limited functionality That Word documents cannot be opened at all without purchasing Microsoft Office That Microsoft Office was required despite the laptop including a free one year licence That an external hard drive is required for basic file transfers between computers Elderly customers are particularly vulnerable to fear based sales tactics and misinformation. In this situation, my family member was clearly unsettled and nearly persuaded to make unnecessary and expensive purchases based on incorrect claims. The only reason this did not escalate further is because I was present and sufficiently knowledgeable to challenge the information being given. I am extremely disappointed in this experience and concerned that other elderly customers may be pressured into unnecessary purchases due to misleading advice. I believe this behaviour falls well below acceptable retail standards and does not align with providing honest, customer focused service.

had an extremely unpleasant experience at this Noel Leeming yesterday around 6:20 pm. I was looking for a Ninja Blast Blender and asked a staff member for help. He showed me the wrong product, carried it to the counter without asking if I wanted to buy it, and dismissed my explanation by saying “they are all the same blender.” Even after I said I had found the product myself, he continued to interrupt, took the item from my hands, and acted as if he had selected it. He also repeatedly pushed product insurance despite me declining three times. At checkout, he approved a price match, confirmed the product code himself, and completed the payment. After I paid, he suddenly grabbed the product and refused to give it to me, claiming the price match was invalid due to colour differences. No explanation, no solution. Only after I demanded a refund and he spoke to a manager was I finally allowed to take the item. This was the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. Completely disrespectful, unprofessional, and stressful. Staff retraining is clearly needed.

Really great service from the manager and one of the young guys there, I think his name is Matthew (the name on my receipt). They answered a ton of my questions, made sure I was getting a great deal and when the computer was faulty they switched it out quickly and easily. Great customer service, thank you so much!

Just wanted to give a shout out to Adam and Steven who delivered and installed our fridge and dishwasher. The dishwasher was fiddly and they took the time to explain how it all connected in case we had to move it in future. And when they discovered that our existing hose had a leak, they explained what we would need to buy and how to do it ourselves. Thanks guys - you were awesome

Was in today. Foreign staff member practically pounced on me as soon as I came through the door. He then proceeded to follow me to what I was going for and was hovering as I was selecting quickly as I knew what I was going for. Uncomfortable service. Highly doubt I’ll come back again because of this.
