One of my comfort food when I'm in Christchurch. A little corner shop tucked away in riverside market, but always with a small crowd. Not too long a wait. Ordered a cod box for $22.50. Lots of fries, ample tartar sauce but the piece of fish was a tad on the smaller side. Probably need to add another side next time.

Ordered the Fish & Chips and the Sole & Salad.
The classic fish tastes juicier compared to the sole fish. Both were delicious with good portions! $16.50 each.
Nice service too.
The dine-in area is located on the level above Riverside Market.

We tried the cod fish and chips here. The portion was small and a bit pricey, but the fish was fresh and nicely cooked.
The standout for us, by far, was the seafood chowder—it’s one of the best we’ve ever had in our lives! Absolutely a must-try when visiting.
That said, the Riverside Market itself felt very crowded, and the restroom facilities were limited and not well maintained. Hopefully, these areas can be improved in the future.
Overall, if you’re after quality seafood, LITTLE FISH CO is worth a visit, especially for the chowder.

Its a great place with such good fish. I wish the management took some notes from Fergburg and had a tv with numbers on and an expo for streamlining the orders. So guests wouldn’t bother the chefs. It would be nice to see these hard workers being taken care of.
Hopefully it happens for them soon. They do such a good job. Definitely needs a bit more structure.

Had the seafood chowder. It was a bit of a wait even though it was already 2pm, but the chowder was delicious.
• Loved the freshly made garlic toasts (you can see garlic chunks on it)— crunchy outside, soft and fluffy inside. They really tied everything together and made the meal better since the chowder is quite thick.
• Chowder was delicious— loads of seafood chunks. Mussels, squid or octopus (can’t tell), fish, potato, maybe even crab.
I thought I’d have to fight off seagulls sitting outside, but a sparrow came to eye my food instead.
NZD 13+ for seafood chowder. Small bowl but because it’s thick and chunky, I felt full after.
