Great customer service and a great car (Mazda 3) . I had a flat battery and they sent someone out within 2 hours and didn't charge me anything. Highly recommended
Hitch is doing more excellent job than we expected, it’s my first time to use local car rental (compared to Avis etc). The Camry we rent has good condition to drive and we spend 8-days happy journey with it. I recommend Hitch, we drove aprox. 2500km in South Island and we pick this car in Christchurch. It is your eco choice to travel, condition is good but it is not very clean inside when we picked it up. At the end, I have to say, it’s a very good choice and don’t really need to worry about it as small company.
I don’t typically take the time to write reviews but after doing A LOT of research on rental car companies and reading endless reviews while planning our own trip to New Zealand, I thought I should pay it forward and write a review. We had a great experience with Hitch. The price was very reasonable (~$600 for a month in November with unlimited mileage and zero excess) and they provided us with a Mazda 3 that was in excellent condition. We had zero problems with the car or the car rental company (which is exactly how you want it to go). Definitely would recommend their hassle-free and smooth service!
The great experience we had dealing with the staff at Hitch Car Rentals set the tone for our fantastic NZ holiday recently. The pickup from the airport was easy, the friendly driver chatting with us on the short drive to their base. Once there, the paperwork was dealt with quickly and efficiently by the really friendly staff, who laughed and joked with us. The 4wd we got was only a couple of years old, in good condition and we had no problems with it at all. The best part was the price which was almost half that of the major airport based companies. Before I booked with Hitch I'd read a couple of negative reviews about them but decided to take a chance with them and I'm so glad I did!
Customer service was great, although they were a bit understaffed when I picked my car up resulting in a short wait. 4 stars instead of 5 due to the age of the vehicle I was given. Everything functioned perfectly fine, but the car was a decently older model and the entertainment system was all in Korean...making it unusable for myself. The tires also were looking a bit on the bald side. Overall, a good experience with some minor complaints due to vehicle quality.
