Nice selection of local wines. Also, jars of preserves and condiments. Gourmet chocolate. Creative and useful tools. Clothing, bags, ceramics, soaps, cosmetics and personal care products. Fun shop to look around.

Beautiful shop that sells fine things here. From hand made perfume, aromatherapy, candles, woodcraft, ceramics, etc. All collected from all over New Zealand from the best. It's quite expensive but it's worth it. If you want to get some fine souvenirs or indulge yourself then this is one of the places. Very recommended!

I had the most horrendous customer experience today. Having made a recent purchase which I found substandard, I felt I had no choice to return to the store to look for a resolution.
And I had the misfortune of being serviced by Christine. I attempted to explained the issue with the product but she simply didn’t care nor want to listen to what I had to say. She was extremely rude, defensive and patronising. I was quite taken by surprise by her heavy handed approach. At no time did she offer a solution despite trying to give her options to do so. She just couldn’t get rid of me quickly enough, what a humiliating experience!
Beautiful store, such a shame the same can’t be seen about the staff :(

LOVE a well-curated home store selling local wares made by local artisans. Of an ilk of Labour & Wait in London, or Philip & Lea in Melbourne, Frances Nation Home is of a class all its own.
You know a home store is superior when it shows you items you didn’t know you needed, but now MUST have. My husband and I collected three items - all made with indigenous wood by local craftspeople: a Tōtara coffee scoop, a black maire chopper(!), and a stainless steel with a turned pōhutukawa handle ice cream scoop (perfection).
We wanted to buy it all; but couldn’t figure out how to get it to the States. Guess we might have to ship…

Such a lovely store. I bought some of the Wellington-made coloured candles for Advent, along with Apostle Hot Sauce, a brand I haven’t been able to find in many locations. The staff were very helpful and even wrapped one of my purchases for free. I hope to come back again even just to browse.
