This is the factory shop for Coupland’s, the mother ship. A large bakery with all the different varieties of baking on offer. Plus, factory specials and seconds at good prices. The food itself is good, clean and well made, but obviously mass produced. This isn’t a boutique bakery with home made goods and special flare, this is honest, simple, (mostly) reasonably priced food that tastes exactly as we have come to know Coupland’s food tastes. We all have our favourites and you know what you are getting. This branch is particularly good for hot food and sandwiches, lunches and/or a special treat. With a coffee. Not a sit down spot to eat - take it home… or break in to it in the car in the parking lot.

Couplands is an iconic brand in NZ and theres a reason for that. They make only the best baked goods and there bread is next to none for freshness and even keeps better than most. Their staff are always respectful and have a lovely sense of humour which I appreciate very much so. Their shop is always clean and ready for service. You'll get good deals, including their savoury packs and pie seconds that people don't always know about. These are year round too, so I know you'll get a good deal, especially since so many families are struggling at the moment. Go check them out they also sell milk if that helps. And no I don't work for them. 😏🤗♥️🌹

Observed a decline in food quality, evidenced by the presence of a foreign object in a bread product. There quality assurance team offered a refund of $1.89, corresponding to the same-day purchase of the bread. Believe a more appropriate course of action to enhanced pest control measures within there food production processes. Will advise to all consumers to thoroughly inspect food products prior to purchase.

Was a pretty good pie and turnover had a good geez and bought some more things. Enjoy going there and enjoy the waterfall and garden. Definitely not your average bakery. Definitely be back

6th Feb around 8:30am A lovely staff named Angela served my husband and I. She was so friendly, cheerful and was so happy to answer my questions. During the sale Angela had noticed she had scanned a packet of chocolate éclairs. Angela said they sell cream in the store to fill eclairs with. I then said there was only the 2L bottles in the fridge. Then she offered to go into there storeroom to see if they had smaller bottles of cream to save us a trip going to the grocery store. Angela successfully returned with a smaller bottle of cream - super happy with the result as I didn't want to go to a grocery store during a public holiday. Thank you Angela for being so polite and Couplands, Hornby is very lucky to have you on their team.
