As we were flying home from Christchurch airport we decided to stay at the Commodore for our final two nights of a 4 week NZ road trip. Best airport hotel we have ever stayed by a long way. With easy bus access in and out of Christchurch CBD from the hotel I would highly recommend using as the hotel of choice for a visit to this wonderful city. Staff were incredible, so friendly & welcoming, rooms very comfortable and the food was exceptional. It also has a great layout/design not like the typical high storey impersonal modern hotels downtown. Absolutely loved this hotel.

A 4* hotel with hospitality that’s totally 5*.
We felt so welcomed. The staff escorted our luggage to room and also helped them back
to reception -all with a smile. Room was perfect, no cheap shampoo conditioner etc, pool was clean and had floaters etc spa and sauna with lavender spray were fab. Unfortunately didn’t have time to explore the gym and tennis court. Food available until 9:30 in restaurant otherwise could be room serviced 24x7. I do think restaurant staff perhaps could step up a little bit in their hospitality (comparing with others in the same hotel) but they were okay we have no complaints as such.
Location is absolutely fab. So convenient if you are flying.
Overall, we would highly Recommend.

A really fantastic and well operated family owned hotel. The staff are absolutely wonderful, so attentive and helpful. We stayed at the hotel on two separate occasions at the beginning and end of our South Island travels and both stays were just great. Very comfortable rooms and great food. We had dinner and breakfast on both occasions. If you need a hotel near the airport you won’t be disappointed with the Commodore.

You can't ask for a better airport hotel. Super close to the airport, but somehow can't hear planes inside. Rooms are modern and clean and very comfy. Spacious too.
Lots of amenities like the hot tub, pool, and garden area. All well maintained.
The restaurant absolutely rocks. Although pricey, the quality of food and drinks, especially wine, are outstanding. We absolutely loved dinner. The breakfast was spectacular too, tons of choices of hot and cold foods.
And to top it off, the hotel and restaurant staff were super friendly and helpful.
Book this one and you won't be disappointed!

Absolute oasis a short drive from Christchurch Airport. Room was huge with gorgeous outlook and access to outside directly. All staff were super polite and accomodating. The restaurant was lovely and the food was well priced and the best that we had experienced during our NZ stay. The family run nature of the property showed through in the general vibe of the place and attention to detail. The hotel boasts a decent sized pool, tennis courts and gardens around it as well. When we dropped our rental car back at the AP, they were happy to pick us up and return us to the hotel. Many airline crew stay at the hotel and I can understand that it would provide a really nice "home away from home" feel for airline staff. We will always return after this fabulous experience:)
