Organizing an arrival at 1am after a long flight, the owners could not have been more helpful. A cold winter night, light left on for us and best of all...electric blankets on so a nice warm bed. We have stayed here several times, the units are immaculate and have everything we need.

The room itself was fine and had everything we needed, although there was a very unpleasant smell. While this was something we could overlook, the customer service was the real disappointment. On check-in, we found the reception staff to be unfriendly and not at all welcoming. When we returned the key on check-out, we were not acknowledged at all while the woman at reception continued speaking with another person. There was no eye contact, thank you, or goodbye. This lack of basic courtesy and the dismissive attitude we experienced left us feeling unwelcome and uncomfortable, so we wouldn't recommend staying here.

We spent a few days in Christchurch and stayed at Colombo in the City — and we truly couldn’t have chosen a better place. The location is perfect: very central, just a short walk to the city centre and only a few minutes from the beautiful Christchurch Botanic Gardens. There are also plenty of lovely cafés and restaurants in the surrounding area. The owners were incredibly kind and helpful. They gave us great recommendations and shopping tips, which made our stay even more enjoyable. After we had already left, I realized that I had forgotten my computer mouse in the room. Not only did they find it, but they kindly mailed it back to me — and didn’t even charge for the postage. That level of service is truly exceptional. Thank you so much for everything. We would absolutely stay here again — though hopefully without forgetting my computer mouse next time!

CItC came to our rescue when we needed to move from Bella Vista. They allowed us to move that morning, no waiting until 2pm. The room was large, well presented and very comfortable. The location was better than Bella Vista because it was quieter, closer to the city centre.

On the plus side Spotless room, bathroom and seating area. Everything inside the room 100% tidy. Very pleasant and helpful staff, especially reception person. On the "room for improvement" side. Lack of privacy. Very bad architectural design. Room 802: unsuitable for honeymooners, as the only window is against a narrow passage where circulation guarantees people having fantastic view on the double bed + motel next door is looking directly in the bedroom. Outside ranch slide has a public area with little tables for social gatherings a mere 1.5 m. from the bedroom, free entertainment for guests. Thus, unsuitable for honeymooners, first time lovers, etc.
