I don’t recommend this company. I wasn’t even going to leave a review, but then I saw one of their ads talking about all their great reviews, so I figured I’d share my experience too. I had a random drip outside the house coming from a pipe connected to the hot water cylinder, so I called Clyne & Bennie to have a plumber come and check it out, explain what it was, and give me a quote if it was something serious. The plumber came over, told me it was something very simple, said it was just a valve that needed replacing, and that would solve the problem. Easy. He replaced it… but the pipe kept dripping. I followed it up, called him and the office, and explained it was still dripping. Maybe not as often, but it was definitely still happening. He came back and replaced another valve, saying that if it wasn’t the first one, it had to be this one. Again, “easy as.” Things actually got worse. Water then started pouring out of the hot water cylinder inside the house every now and then. Once again, I had to chase them up, while at the same time receiving a bill for over $900. I even went into their office to speak with the manager Basil Martin I believe. His main focus seemed to be convincing me that this was all normal plumbing practice and that they were doing me a favour by not charging me for the extra visits. They then sent a different plumber, who looked around, removed a small valve from the bathroom sink tap, said that was causing the water to come out of the cylinder, and left. That was it. No follow-up. No checking whether the original issue had actually been fixed. At that point I gave up. The water no longer pours out of the cylinder, which is good, but the original drip is still there… exactly like it was before they started, and now I have the anxiety that water might pour out of the cylinder at any moment. So, to summarise: I paid over $900, the original problem was never fixed, and I’m left wondering whether the valves they replaced even needed replacing in the first place. I may end up taking this further, but for now I just wanted to share my experience.
Had a great experience with Clyne & Bennie who I contacted to remove a 3rd toilet and turn the space into a laundry. I emailed in my request and the team responded in 2 hours and a week later I had a new laundry. Todd, who came in to do the job, was on time, really professional and left my home clean and tidy. Excellent service! Would definitely recommend these guys and definitely use again. Left a message on the website, was rung within very short space of time, appointment made for first be thing next day. Water cylinder element replaced. Two vanity taps replaced and dripping toilet fixed. Thank you very much. 😊
Great service from the team! Our gas fire had a fault, the previous service person from another company couldn’t fix it. We called Clyne and Bennie, immediate response and they had a service person booked in the next day. Arrrived home that night, fire was working perfectly and has been since. Highly recommend
Excellent company to deal with for electrical and plumbing. We were doing renovations and they were happy to work in with whatever we needed even having a team on site at short notice. Great workmanship as well.
