My girlfriend and I researched and contacted many bike rental shops for our 2,000km adventure across NZ South Island, this bike rental shop was the most competitively priced. Alex was so helpful, always available on WhatsApp if he We had an issue. The bikes were flawless and got us to complete the adventure of a lifetime. I can't recommend Alex highly enough, this has been the trip of a lifetime thanks to his services and the bikes.
5 star experience from pre trip, pick up and communication during the rental. Alex offered the perfect MTB and bag set up for my 2000km trip across the South Island including sections of the S2S, Old Ghost Road, Paparoa Track, Alps2Ocean and TA. Alex really looks after his fleet of bikes and spent a good hour with me making sure the set up was running perfectly. He was also flexible when I wanted to extend my rental for a few days.
Bike Venture Rentals We hired three adult E-bikes. We rode from Sumner, along the Summit Road of the Port Hills, down Gebbies Pass then round the bays to Diamond Harbour. By ferry to Lyttleton then over Evan’s Pass to Sumner. It is a small business and the communication and quality of service was excellent. Well done Alex! The bikes were impressive machines and well maintained. We were amazed at the range of the batteries as we covered over sixty kms of steep to rolling terrain. We had been well advised that even the lower power settings will get you up steep slopes easily if you are patient. No doubt we will happily go with this outfit again and pass on the good word. My wife and I planned a two month cycling tour of NZ trails - Alps 2 Ocean, Clutha Gold, Roxburgh Gorge, etc. We rented a pair of bikes from Alex for the duration of our trip. The entire process went perfectly - Alex was extremely helpful - he answered our emails promptly, he supplied panniers and a car rack, he even modified the bikes for us. I wouldn't consider going elsewhere for a long term bike hire.
We hired bikes from City Cycle on a recent girls weekend. After talking to at least 10 companies we came across Alex who was so helpful and obliging, nothing was a problem. We biked from the city out to New Brighton for lunch and back. Great bikes that were reasonably priced, i hightly recommended this company.
