Dropped by here on my first day in Christchurch after a long flight and wasn't disappointed. Easy walking distance from CBD. The decor was quite eclectic with its pneumatic tube interiors, juke box and an industrial vibe. I didn't have my food delivered through the tubes, so not sure if it is actually put to use or just a playful unique interior choice.
We were there for an early brunch so the menu was largely a modern breakfast / brunch cuisine. We had the Steven's Savoury Toast and it came in a generous portion. It was flavourful and nicely plated. The dukkah on top was especially delightful. We also had the Chemex Filter coffee which was a sharing jug of drip coffee, loved the flavour. It was bold, rich, smooth and not acidic. We ended up buying 2 bags of coffee beans also. Staff were also friendly and pleasant. If you’re searching for a top-rated café in Christchurch for brunch or lunch, this is it.
Pro tips for visitors: Arrive early, saw a queue up in the front one day during lunch hours.

I enjoyed this morning’s breakfast; not too heavy, as I was also preparing for lunch later.
Everything was very comfortable, and I felt grateful; the flavors were just right and very satisfying. The companions and atmosphere were wonderful.
I highly recommend this place. I came alone, but it also seemed perfect for families, as the restaurant had a lively and welcoming vibe.

The atmosphere is great. The food is ok. The Service is -1 star. Noone smiles among the servers nor the cashier which is a first for most places here. People are usually friendly so im surprised at 9am the people working here looks like they are way underpaid and the management sucks. This is so sad. Hope the servers get the pay they deserve so they can at least sport a smile. I sat infront of the register and for about 2 hours they dont smile at all to their crew and customers. WHAT IS HAPPENING!!

The experience is great but i felt the food was expensive as the burger is small compared to ones that are served normally in a nirmal cafe. The coffee was very nice. Great gimmick and i suppose was worth the cost for the experience. Although it was lucky i was keeping an eye out for my food as it got sent to the wrong table.🤔😀

We only went here for coffee, so this review does not cover their food (which I heard is delivered pretty uniquely and makes the place worth visiting). It has good, old school ambience with some modern touches here and there. Coffee and hot chocolate were made with care and were delicious. The staff were also very polite and friendly.
