We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was delicious! However, our visit on Sunday was a bit of a wait - it took about 30 minutes for our breakfast bowls to arrive. While the flavors were great, the portions felt a little small for the price. Adding a second egg for example would make the dish feel much more complete. Overall, a lovely spot, just hope for faster service next time!
Black Betty Café offers generous portions at reasonable prices, and the service is impressively quick. It’s a fantastic spot for brunch. I especially recommend the Eggs Benny—the house-made hollandaise is delicious. A cozy café that’s perfect for a quick catch-up.
We loved Black Betty Cafe so much we went twice for breakfast while we were in Christchurch! They have a nice menu selection, delicious coffees, and the menu is very allergen friendly. The atmosphere is great too! Genuinely zero complaints… give it a go!
Coffee good taste, beautiful but not hot enough, food very average, my partner order breakfast bowl but chef forgot egg and I had to asked for him. One girl (staff) not smiley, slow and no service mind
This is my all time favorite cafe! The food is delicious, selection is great, staff is always kind and patient, decor is fabulous, vibes are immaculate. I make sure to visit every time I am in Ōtautahi / Christchurch and recommend it to everyone I know!
